Detail

Polytetrafluoroethene, abbreviated as PTFE, trade name Teflon®

The products of this material is a use of fluorine-substituted polyethylene Hydrogen atoms of synthetic polymers. This material has acid and alkali resistance, anti-organic solvent characteristics, almost insoluble in all solvents. At the same time, PTFE has the characteristics of high temperature, it has a very low coefficient of friction, it can be used for lubrication purposes, has become a non-stick pan and pipe lining the ideal paint.

PTFE (Polytetra Fluoroethylene) is one of the high performance engineering plastics & used in various applications, especially in Chemical Industries Field.  PTFE represents a very good sliding friction properties & high resistance to chemical attack. PTFE is a use of fluorine-substituted polyethylene in all hydrogen atoms of synthetic polymer materials. This material has acid and alkali resistance, anti-organic solvent characteristics, almost insoluble in all solvents. At the same time, PTFE has the characteristics of high temperature, its very low coefficient of friction, it can be used for lubrication

PTFE is in white solid at room temperature, the mechanical properties is soft. Has a very low surface energy density of 2.1-2.3 g / cm³. According to DuPont's record, it has a melting point of 327°C (620.6°F) but deteriorates above 260°C (500°F). Its coefficient of friction is less than or equal to 0.1, which corresponds to the smallest known solid material. Raw material is the main component of polytetrafluoroethylene, commonly used in sealing the water pipe interface.

Serval basic types of Polytetrafluororethene: PTFE, FEP, PFA, ETFE

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)  with the highest temperature 290-300°C, low coefficient of friction, good wear resistance and excellent chemical stability.

FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene Copolymer)  with excellent chemical stability and excellent non-stick properties with a maximum service temperature of 200°C.

PFA (Perfluoroalkylate) has the advantage of having a higher continuous use temperature of 260°C, more rigid just toughness, especially suitable for use in high temperature conditions anti-sticking and chemical resistance to use.

ETFE is a copolymer of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene, the toughest fluoropolymer that forms a highly durable coating with excellent chemical resistance and operates continuously at 150°C.
